CHURROS s a dramatic short film about Jo-Jo, a 13-year-old Hispanic-American boy who lives with his street vendor single mother and little sister in Queens, New York. He breakdances with a crew and dreams of being "the illest" b-boy in the world, but a local gang member attempts to lure him away. One night, Jo-Jo is forced to make one of the most important decisions of his life.

Shot over the course of 3 days, and featuring real-life b-boy & b-girl legends Kwikstep and Rokafella, this is a stand-alone short film as well as proof-of-concept.

Written & directed by husband/wife team Bruce Smolanoff & Emilie McDonald.

Director of Photography: Adam J. Minnick.

Co-produced by Lindsey Cordero.
